What's Up Wednesday

I'm trying to get back into blogging, but I'm feeling a bit like I have nothing interesting to share. . . So today I'm just going to tell you what I've been up to and I'm hoping you'll share what's up with you, too. :)

My print copy of Real Girls Don't Rust came yesterday. Yay! I'm really looking forward to reading everyone's stories.

Right now I'm reading That Sadie Thing by Annalisa Crawford. It's really good! I'm having a hard time picking a favorite story. It's amazing how invested she can get you in a character in such a short amount of words.

I'm finishing up final revisions on DON'T FALL, my contemporary retelling of Rapunzel. I love the characters in that one, perhaps a bit too much. I needed to go back and make more go wrong for them! Lol.

Next week I head off to US Nationals, and I'm really looking forward to it. I get to show a super sweet, amazing four-year-old mare.

Maybelline has been a blast to show this year, and this will be my last show with her. After that we're selling her to another girl at our farm. I'll miss showing her, but I'm very happy she'll be staying at our barn and is going to a girl whom I know will take really good care of her.

I had bookmarks made for RUN FOR THE ROSES, and I'm really happy with how they turned out. I plan to bring them to the show next week. I'm hoping horse people will enjoy the story!

My oldest turns nine next week, too! Before I leave, I won't be missing her birthday. :) And then my son has his birthday the day after I get back! I love birthdays. I love buying presents for people. Especially kid people. I seriously love buying toys. :)

Well, that's it for me. What's up with you?

  1. Shopping for kids is fun. I could do it all day (not my purse though.) YAY! I had my paperback copy sent to the U.S., so I won't see it for 5 more weeks. But I'm SO looking forward to it. My parents were totally excited to get it and dove in right away :)

I love shopping for my daughter too, but my hubs always tells me to go easy or I'll buy the whole store and bankrupt us lol

  5. Kid birthdays are the best. The eyes when they open a present is just perfect. I love it.

  6. Happy B'day to the kiddies when it comes. Glad the horse will have a good rider. Started reading That Sadie Thing recently myself and Annalisa did good. Congrats on your books and bookmarks.

  7. Happy birthday to your kids! And your horse is so pretty! I wish I could have a horse, but it wouldn't fit in my apartment. :)

  8. Irish Green was my favorite in Annalisa's book. Loved it. Handing out book marks at a horse show was such a smart idea! I need to focus my brain and start thinking smart like that.
I just re-read Black Beauty, so I'm feeling all horse loving...so I'm ready for Run for the Roses!

  14. Maybelline is GORGEOUS!!! I'm so jealous. One day, I vow, I will have a horse again. Although the Foreign Service lifestyle isn't exactly conducive to horse ownership. :P Good luck at Nationals (and with everything else)!
