A BIG Thank You to Kyra Lennon for hosting this with me! (Honestly, she did most of the work.) You rock Kyra!
So here's my story. :)
Flesh-Eating Zombies and Evil Ex-Girlfriends:
The Movie
First we need Erwin, he's the star afterall. This was hard for me. The problem was that all the guys I found were just so pretty. Not that I always hate pretty guys, but Erwin is not a pretty boy. This guy is the best I could do.
Next we need Sylvia, who is fairly kick-ass. (No, she's not the evil ex-girlfriend.) ;)
I think Emma Roberts totally looks like she could be sweet, or she could beat the snot out of you, depending on her mood. :)
The ex, Natalie, would look more like this girl:
Lastly, I wanted to cast Amy, the poor little seven-year-old Ewin and Sylvia are trying to protect.
Wouldn't you want to protect her from a herd of zombies?
And, of course, there are a whole lot of these guys:
(There were photos of actual people as zombies, but they were too scary. I must admit, if my book ever really became a movie, I might be too scared to watch it.)
Now for the song. I chose Parkway Avenue by The Gravities.
I realize you probably won't click on the link, which is fine, so I will tell you a bit about it.
First, The Gravities are my favorite little-known band.
(Odd fact: The lead singer, Dan Conway, is the cousin of John Conway-the keyboardist for The Bravery.)
This is a beatiful song about not being as over your ex as you thought you were. Which is a problem Erwin has in the book. A line from the chorus:
"I thought that I was over her, but she just looked so beautiful today."
Okay, you really should click the link and listen to it, 'cause it's pretty great. Listen to 'Beautiful Houses' while you're there, too. ;)
Now I can't wait to check out everyone else's!
I hate computers. For some reason I can't get the linky thing to work. (I did it before.) Grr. So, here's the link to the links. Sorry about that. :(
Thanks for being a super co-host! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat looking cast, and I will check out that song a little later!
Thank you, Kyra! This has been a lot of fun! :)
DeleteZombies and ex-girlfriends - an interesting mix!
ReplyDeleteThey can both be quite a major pain. ;)
DeleteEmma Roberts is awesome. And I'd totally want to protect that little girl from zombies.
ReplyDeleteThanks! (That's my daughter.) :)
DeleteI really like Emma Roberts. What a great cast! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! I'm glad so many people played along. :)
DeleteLove your description of Emma Roberts. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd I did click on the Parkway Avenue link. I haven't heard of this band before and I always like to discover new music.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for hosting!
Thanks! I hope you liked it, I love The Gravities. :)
DeleteGreat song! And yeah that pic of the ex looks like a typical annoying ex. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! They have such great lyrics.
DeleteOoh, love the song! And I'm with you - boys shouldn't be so pretty that we forget they can kill zombies for us! This was so fun! Thanks for doing this! My cast is up! Yay!
ReplyDeleteExactly! How is some pretty boy going to fight off the undead? ;)
DeleteThanks for hosting such a fun event! I did click on the link and it worked fine for me - the song is so meloncholy and plays well against the action/terror of a zombie movie (I'd watch with covered eyes lol). And yes, finding not-so-pretty guys was a challenge. Where have all the real men gone? :)Great choices!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but we need to find them! :) Thanks!
DeleteWhat an interesting idea!
ReplyDeleteEmma Roberts is an awesome choice! And the guy you chose it's not pretty, but hell he looks yummy anyway lol
I think he looks pretty good, too. ;)
DeleteAhaha, zombies!!! Love it! Looks like you have a great cast!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI felt the same way about my guy, everyone is too pretty. Your books sounds so interesting. I love zombies.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
Thanks! You, too. :)
DeleteFirst off thanks for hosting. This has been so much fun! I love that you think you'd be too scared to see your own movie. That is great! I love Emma Roberts and have used that exact picture for inspiration for one of my characters. You are so right, she has that sweet, but I can kick your butt look. lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat song! Listening to it right now. When you said he was related to someone in the Bravery it was an instant click. And I'm so happy I did :)
Yay! I'm glad you liked the song! They're a great band. :)
DeleteI don't want to see any of them eaten by Zombies. Nice choices!
ReplyDeletei love a good kick-a girl and guy team, especially vs zombies! go get em!
ReplyDeleteand thanks again for the fest!
Thanks! And you're welcome, it was fun! :)
DeleteFirst off I love your MS title. I would read it based on that :) Great looking characters.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of your choices and how they fit with your WIP, though I don't think I have come across these actors before.
ReplyDeleteEmma Roberts is the only one that I'd ever heard of. The other two I found searching teen stars. :) (Oh and the little girl is my daughter.)
DeleteI have been looking forward to your cast for "Zombies"! So awesome. I just imagine that scene about the Pretty Woman reference and I love Erwin all over again. I need this published!!! Thanks for hosting this :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! This was a lot of fun. :)
DeleteI totally agree with you on Emma Roberts - nice choice!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think about posting more than one person! :/ But, I guess people are already accustom to my ideas of what my characters look like! Lol!
ReplyDeleteI love your casting!!
Thanks! Maybe we'll have to do it again next year. ;)
DeleteI like the rugged 'non pretty' main character, makes him good looking without being perfect :) This bloghop is a lot of fun, thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteNo problem, it's been a lot of fun!
DeleteI love Emma Roberts, and you're right she does look sweet, or that she could beat you up, depending on her mood.
ReplyDeleteAnd awww, Amy is adorable!
Thanks! 'Amy' is my daughter, Elizabeth. :)
DeleteOhh, zombie survival, very fun! And Emma Roberts totally fits, ^_^. I hope they keep the little girl safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI usually like the 'pretty-boys', but your MMC is h.o.t. Great blogfest, as well - I look forward to any more in the future!
ReplyDeleteThanks! This was fun! :)
DeleteI think your male mc is perfect, and I love Emma Roberts! Thanks for hosting this bloghop!
ReplyDeleteNo problem, it was fun! I'm glad so many people joined in. :)
DeleteErwin is hot! I'd probably be too scared to watch it too, but maybe not with this cast. Lol.
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks!
DeleteI LOVE THE BRAVERY!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso - GREAT PICS!!
Emma Roberts is so awesome :-D
That's so cool! They are pretty awesome group. :)
DeleteI had a similar problem choosing my male lead. Not that the boys were too pretty, but that they were too skinny. Nothing really matches my head, anyway, though. LOL
ReplyDeleteI totally LMAO at your comment about being too scared to watch the movie.
Great post, and thanks for hosting this. It was a TON of fun!
Lol, I'm not too into skinny guys, either. :)
DeleteFlesh-eating zombies, how cool! Haven't read too many book on zombies, but watched lots of movies.
ReplyDeleteAnd Great idea for a bloghop. Lot's of fun. Thanks.
You're welcome, it was a lot of fun! I'm just glad everyone else seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. :)
DeleteThanks for the blogfest. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't decide which would be scarier: zombies or the ex-girlfriends. Sounds like a fun book, tho.
They are definitely both frightening. :)
DeleteWhat fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME!!! Wow - this totally needs to be a movie! So fascinating!
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry about the bloghop! I hope to finish up this presentation and find some time to post. You've had some great entries and this is such a fun idea :)
Thanks!
DeleteIt's too bad you had to miss it. Feel free to post later if you want to. :) I'm glad you got your computer stuff fixed now. :)
Totally perfect!!! When do I get to read the rest of this? For real! I want to read the rest of it, like now! :D
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm so glad you want to read it. :) I'll be sending it soon.
DeleteThe zombies you've got here are almost cute - could you have them CGI'd in instead of really nasty looking ones?
ReplyDeleteI feel stupid. . .I don't know what CGI'd means.
DeleteThanks for the kind words and the cute caption quote for my sad "contest" :)
ReplyDeleteLol, it was a fun contest, I just couldn't come up with much. :)
