IWSG, February

It's the first Wednesday of the month, which means it's time for a monthly meeting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! In the words of the creator of IWSG, and our fearless leader, Alex J. Cavanaugh now is "time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs."

His wonderful co-hosts today are Gwen Gardner, Dolorah, Sarah Foster, and M. Pax! Big thank to them and Alex!

What are my insecurities this month? Well, I just started querying again. . . Enough said.

So for anyone else in the querying boat,

here are some words of inspiration from people who know more than me. :)

  20. Good luck with querying; let us know how it goes! And I like Joss Whedon's quote in particular, especially because some of my fictional characters do and say things that I don't have the courage to do and say in real life.

  22. Holy crumb-cake, Batman. You're in the query trenches??? I gave up on those for a while. Things just weren't looking good for me. I'll admit that maybe I got a little tired of the "This is great, but unfortunately, I'm still not going to rep you." Sometimes, it started to feel like "I know you're the goose that laid the golden egg, but I have a magic spinning wheel that turns straw to gold, so that ain't nothing special. Also, geese smell bad."

So yeah, good luck out there. I hope it goes better for you than it has for me.

  23. Sometimes I think writing isn't worth it, to feel so much pain and rejection. The good news is, whether you're accepted or rejected, you still get to write. And if you're like me, and love it, then you're kind of already winning. Good luck to you and keep after your dreams. They're bound to come true!
