Perhaps I should go here for some inspiration. Pretty, yes?
(These were taken at my dad's farm, by my dad.)
Soon, I will start writing again. No, really. It's not the first time I've hit a slump, and I'm sure it won't be the last. How about you? Do you ever hit a writing slump, or does brilliance drip from your pen every day? ;) If you do, how do you pull yourself out of it?
What beautiful pictures! I wanna go there ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm in a bit of a slump myself atm, too. I'm between projects, have lost blogging momentum and have been spending A LOT of time critiquing work that isn't mine. I don't often hit slumps, but when I do, I figure it's just time to take a small break before I burn myself out. So I'm slowing down, enjoying the summer, and waiting for the Fall which never fails to inspire and motivate me :)
I always feel like I'm in a writing slump during the summer months. I've only just recently started writing again because I made myself write.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are gorgeous. I love the one of the horses. :D
i love the horses, but i'm a horse nut. i'm in a slump right now because i've been living in limbo for the last year due to moving, etc. i've tried to get out of it but my brain won't cooperate. so i'm spending my time doing art. at least it's something creative.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! That certainly looks like an inspiring place to go!
ReplyDeleteWriting slumps really suck, but I find the best thing to do is just ride them out. The words will come again when they're ready. :D
Sure, I hit a dry spell last fall. Knew I needed to start writing my third book, but I couldn't come up with a decent storyline. Just kept playing with ideas until one stuck.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are gorgeous. My parents live right next to many acres of vineyard. When I visit them, I'm always writing. Love the scenery.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think my writing should more accurately be called 'procrastination block'! Hope your words flow again soon. Those pics are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSummers are hard for me too. But I think of it as gathering material time. Those pictures are so beautiful but if I were there I'd just want to play outside!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, when I hit a writing stump, there is nothing to do but be stumped. And that is usually JUST what I need. Everyone needs breaks every now and then. But never stray too far from writing. If your WIP is a problem, write something else. Anything. Just keep writing. Once the stump has been removed, get back to that WIP!!
ReplyDeletethose pictures are amazing. hope you're enjoying your summer.
ReplyDeleteOh...it's so beautiful! I love the line of horses!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are amazing! I've been a slacker this summer too. Somehow kids out of school and begging to play video games isn't really conducive to writing. Who knew?
ReplyDeleteBrilliance drip from my pen every day? I wish. But I've been lucky that writers block hadn't hit really hard. It usually works itself out fairly quickly.
ReplyDeleteYes I have slumps. It's hard to know what to do for best, sometimes personally I need to take a break, sometimes it's good to keep writing and it'll work out. But know that it will work out. The slump won't last forever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a timely post for me! I too am in a slump. I'm in the process of trying to put together the 2nd draft of my WIP. I'm at an impasse. I know I just need to iron out this one transitional chapter but I just can't seem to get moving on it. I too have been incredibly busy but I feel like that's no excuse! I will work on it if you will! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been experiencing a writing slump this summer, too. I'm hoping to finally dispel it this month and get something substantial written for at least one of my projects. (Beautiful pictures, btw!)
ReplyDeleteSlumps stink. I've been staring a blank screen all morning, trying to dig deep. Nothing. However, since my screen (and my mind) were blank I decided to do a little facebook wandering which led me to your blog and I'm glad that I landed here. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie! I'm glad you found me here! :)
