I had first grade conferences last night for my seven-year-old daughter, (the oldest of my four) and her teacher told me, "she's a writer."
YAY! How much did I love hearing that? A lot! In fact, I might just say it again. She's a writer.
Apparently she spends any free time she has writing stories. In fact, she told me she's working on a chapter book.
:) :)
Also, don't forget, Alex Cavanaugh's launch party for CassaFire is next Tuesday! Yay for that, too. :) It's not too late to sign up, just click on the link above. You could win a copy of the book.
Oh, and one last thing, go sign up for WiP: The Movie. It's going to be fun!
Have a great day everyone!
That is so cute! Start em' young :)
ReplyDeleteOMG...as a teacher...I find that so thrilling...and so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteAww, that's awesome! Looking forward to hearing about her writing progress!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome that her teacher recognizes and encourages her! That means so much to kids!
ReplyDeleteYou've rubbed off on her, mom!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the mention - just four more days.
That is so cool! Yay for mini writers :)
ReplyDeleteYou must be very proud of her.
ReplyDeleteNice words to her, especially when you're a writer too!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteThe bloghop sounds super fun! I'm excited :)
ReplyDeleteIn first grade, my teachers expressed concern to my parents that they feared I'd never like reading or writing.
ReplyDeleteNowadays, that's almost all I do.
Oh that's funny! In kindergarten my teacher asked my mom if I had been exposed to paper and pencil. (I had, of course, just had no interest.) It's funny how things turn out. :)
DeleteThanks everybody. I am pretty proud of her. :)
ReplyDeleteAww that's great. Btw, I tagged you on my blog, if you feel like participating in one of those question-answer blog events that are spreading across the blogosphere :)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! You must be so proud:)
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same at my 12 year old's parents evening - fantastic feedback in English (cue me beaming all the way home), and music (cue my hubby the muscian being pretty happy too). I know we should have been equally interested in the history and geography, but... it's just not the same, is it?
It really isn't. :) I must admit, I stink at geography.
DeleteAwesome report from your daughter's teacher. Congrats! And I just signed up for the WIP Movie Blogfest. Sounds like a fun one!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see your Word Verification is on. I'm on a mission to rid the world of this unnecessary evil! Check out the tab How To Turn Off Word Verification on my blog. Its a simple process and makes commenting so much easier.
I'm glad you signed up! And thanks for telling me that! I actually thought I had turned it off. I hate those things, too. :-P
