Horse Shows and New Books

Hello bogging buddies. How is your summer going so far? Mine has been busy, but fun. In a couple weeks my daughter and I are heading to Canada for the national horse show there. I'm showing a couple of horses and my daughter is coming along to watch.

This is Maybelline CA, one of the horses I get to show. Isn't she cute?

My daughter's never been before and while I think she'll enjoy it, there are also definitely boring parts. So I bought her a couple new books she'll get for the trip. Including Bunnicula,
which I'm excited for her to read. :)

Bunnicula (Bunnicula, #1)

Did you read Bunnicula as a kid?

I've also been writing a lot. June was slow but July has been pretty darn productive. I think the writing retreat really got my butt in gear. Now hopefully August will be spent on revisions and by the fall I'll have a couple things to send out. Wish me luck!

What have you been up to this summer? Being productive? Having fun? Read any good books?

  6. I loved Bunnicula! Good luck at the horse show (not that you need it). My mother would say "May the horse be with you" because mine never was (laid down right in front of the judge in a halter class... yeah, I always went with the prize winner)

  7. Wow, that's cool that you show horses. I never read Bunnicula when I was a kid. I think I'd like it, for sure. Thanks for sharing about it. Good luck with your writing. Sometimes it does take something like a writing retreat to kick the words back in gear. :)

  8. Yay for Bunnicula! I loved reading about Chester and Howie and that bunch as a kid. And how gorgeous is Maybelline?! She kind of looks like she knows it too, in that pic... =)

I am so happy to hear you had a great time at the writer's retreat and you have been productive this summer, at least that makes one of us!! LOL

Loved your horse story BTW and I think this trip can help in your research with that too. Have fun!

  12. I love how the horse is looking right at the camera. I wish I could go on a writing retreat; I'd love to go somewhere quiet and peaceful, where I can look outside and see trees, flowers, and acres of land. Basically I'd like to go somewhere that's the opposite of Chicago, though I do love Chicago.
