The Contest: write a 100 word Halloween story appropriate for children (title not included in the 100 words), using the words spooky, black cat, and cackle. Get it? Halloweensie - because it's not very long and it's for little people :)
Black Cat Scat
Halloween
was Simon's least favorite holiday. No one ever wanted to trick or treat
with him."Simon, where are you?” a voice called.
Could it be? Did someone want him?
No sooner had Simon come out of hiding than someone screamed.
“Ahh! It’s a black cat! Run!”
Simon's little girl, dressed like a witch, scooped him up and rubbed behind his ears. “You are perfect for Halloween!"
Simon purred. Maybe Halloween wasn’t so bad after all.
Rachel, I love this! I didn't catch on until the end that Simon was the black cat! Purrrrrrfect.
