Moonless bloghop!

Today is the Moonless Blog Hop, to celebrate the paperback release of
Crystal Collier's book, Moonless!

In the English society of 1768 where women are bred to marry, unattractive Alexia, just sixteen, believes she will end up alone. But on the county doorstep of a neighbor’s estate, she meets a man straight out of her nightmares, one whose blue eyes threaten to consume her whole world—especially later when she discovers him standing over her murdered host in the middle of the night.

Her nightmares become reality: a dead baron, red-eyed wraiths, and forbidden love with a man hunted by these creatures. After an attack close to home, Alexia realizes she cannot keep one foot in her old life and one in this new world. To protect her family she must either be sold into a loveless marriage, or escape with her beloved and risk becoming one of the Soulless.
Sounds good, right?
So Crystal wanted to know:
If you lived in a society where arranged marriages were the norm, who would you beg your parents to set you up with? (Literary characters and celebrities welcomed.) Who and why?
This is tough, (especially as I'm about to celebrate my ten year anniversary, and it seems odd to say someone other than my husband!)
But. . . if I have to pick, I'll pick someone fictional.
One of the best books I've read recently was Eleanor and Park.
Reading it I remembered what it's like to fall in love for the first time.
The love story in the book was so sweet and so innocent.
It shows the thrill of just holding someone's hand.
Remember what a big deal that was?
So I'll pick Park. :)
Congratulations to Crystal! Moonless sounds fantastic, and it must be such a thrill to get to hold the paperback in your hands. :)
And now I want to know about you. Who would you want to be paired with?

  1. For your ten year anniversary, see if you can capture that feeling again!

  2. I haven't read that, but I've seen it on a lot of best books of last year lists.

    Janie Junebug

  3. I haven't read Eleanor and Park, but I have a friend who loves that book, so I'm not surprised by your answer!

    Also, happy ten-year anniversary! :)

  4. I haven't heard of Eleanor and park, but now I want to read it!

  5. Hi, I'm dropping in from Crystal's blogfest. Nice to meet you. And Happy Anniversary to you and your hub!

    Newest follower here.

  6. Well, now you've made me want to read this!

  7. HI, Rachel,

Nice to meet you... I am cohosting the fest and happy to drop by your blog!

Very sweet answer an Happy 10th!

    Congrats to Crystal ... YAY!

  8. Yay! Happy anniversary! I've been eyeing that book for a while, and while I don't usually read contemporary, it's probably one I'll end up getting to. Eventually. =) Thank you for playing, Rachel! You're rock awesome!

  9. Definitely on my TBR pile! (and is it bad that I've been married for 16 1/2 years and my own husband never occurred to me? whoops!)

  10. Park is such a cool name for a guy. I like that it's just Park and not Parker. So, anyhoo, that was kinda random... I'll just run along now! =)

  11. interesting choice... I want to like use his name in a lot of one-liners, but I must deny myself :)- hope you make great babies!!!

  12. I haven't read this, but he sounds sweet. Probably much like your real husband.

  13. I'd pick Henry Tilney from Northanger Abbey, because he was willing to give up his fortune for his true love.

  14. Love the new look! Happy anniversary to you and your hubs! My husband and I have twenty-one years under our belts, so I just torture him with my Thor lust, but he started it by drooling over Arwen in LOTR.

  15. A couple of people chose their husbands. Happy 10 year anniversary in advance.

  16. I haven't read this, so I'm not familiar with Park. Must look into him :D

  17. I haven't read Eleanor and Park but I've heard great things about it. It's going on my TBR!

  18. This sounds like a really good book! :) Congrats on my 10 year anniversary!

  19. I have Eleanor and Park near my bed and am making my way towards it! Now that I see you picked him I am even more excited to read the book. ;) I have two more books until I get to it!! It has been great reading everyone's answers to this question. Thanks for sharing and happy 10th anniversary. Best of luck to Crystal. :)
