Hello There!

I want to get back into the habit of blogging. Because when you're away for a while it can be hard to come back. Mainly because I feel like I have nothing interesting to tell you people. I keep thinking, what did I used to write about?

*sigh*

So, I figured today I'd just pop in to say hello and tell you what I've been up to. Hopefully you'll tell me what's new with you, too. :)

Speech just started up again. I'm the head coach now, and as of yet we have no assistant coach, which is leaving me a little freaked out, but hopefully someone will step up to fill the spot.

I sent my NA novella out to some of my cps and am, of course, trying not to think about it as I wait for their responses. In the meantime I've started a new YA novel that I am super duper excited about.

And, just for fun, here's a little snippet from OVER THE OCEAN, coming this March under my NA pen name, Georgia St. Mane.

I'll be having a cover reveal for this in February, and (not to toot my own horn) it's pretty darn cute. :)

What have you been up to? What projects are you working on?

  1. I'm sure you'll do great as head coach. That's pretty exciting.

I'm not doing anything special. Just editing one of the too many projects I have. It's never ending. I'd prefer to be writing, but sometimes I need to stop and move on with the editing part, otherwise nothing will get finished.

    1. I used to think I really liked the revision process. Then I learned I was doing it wrong. :-P

  3. Great job Rachel, loved the snippet. I am so excited for you and the cover review. And I feel the same as you- what should I blog about now is my number one question these days.

  4. Can't wait to see the cover! I've come to the wise conclusion that after the words in the books, the covers are the next biggest thing! ;) I'm painstakingly slogging through my final revision. I'm determined to be done soon, but Lord, it's killing me!

  5. I love that excerpt and the picture goes perfectly with it! Can't wait to see the cover :D

I just started my last spring semester of undergrad (graduating in December) so that's pretty exciting. Oh, and I'm working on a shiny new idea for a novel.

I'm trying to get back into blogging too. I've been way out of it for a while!

  6. Sounds like you have plenty going on.

I'm concentrating on short stories at the moment and that's going pretty well.

  7. Hey Rachel! Don't stress over the critiques. And hope you find an assistant coach soon.

  8. I have a hard time figuring out what to blog about lately, too. Good luck getting back into the swing of blogging! Also, that was such a fantastic snippet for Over the Ocean. (I already want to read more!) Looking forward to the cover reveal. :)

  10. It's really rough to get back into blogging after a break! I'm still trying to find my groove, but it will come!

  11. Interesting snippet from the book! I think it really captured the way people feel about people that they feel strongly about, when all they're aware of is the object of their affection.
I know what you mean about blogging regularly; I haven't blogged as much lately, partly due to other work commitments, and partly due to blogger's block. But I don't want to give up blogging entirely, because I enjoy it and I value the connections I've made with other bloggers.

  12. Love the snippet! And I had to laugh about feeling like you don't have anything interesting to post, that's exactly how I've been feeling about my blog lately. I still haven't gotten back on track after the holiday break.

  13. I also find that it's easier to stay in the blogging groove than to get back into it. But, if you have a big goal, you can join my bloghop. Gives you something to write about at least once a month. (Starting this Friday.) ;-)

As for what I'm up to, I'm mainly editing and doing a ton of stuff on the new farm. Got a bit of writing done, but life's conspiring against me, it seems.

  14. Nice! Love it. I think blogging is easier with Memes. I actually could fill the blogosphere with awesome STUFF, but that's probably because I'm procrastinating finishing my current draft. Bad me.
